Not much to say today, just wanted to draw everyone’s attention–once again–to my Miscellaneous folder. You’ll see that I’ve uploaded a replacement shot of “Writer’s Block”, which I re-did to correct some things from the first shoot. And on either side of it (we’re talking about the first row on page one, right when the album opens up) are my two newest shots: Gloves and Flower. No creative titles here, just file-names. I should probably get in the habit of actually titling these one of these days… =P
Hope everyone’s having a good week!

Hey everyone! Today’s just a quick post - just wanted to let you know about the four new photos I just uploaded.
Again, go to Gallery, and then click the Photo Gallery link, and click on my self portrait. Then click on my Miscellaneous folder, and the first four shots are the four new ones. Writer’s Block is pretty self-explanatory, and Winter Wonderland is just a pretty shot from the park the other day. Spines wasn’t executed as well as I would have liked, but I’ll probably try again sometime in the near future. Although it doesn’t illustrate the point I was trying to make as clearly as it could, it’s still a really nice shot. And as for the Glasses Composition, that was just something goofy I put together the other night when Tony and I were snowed in!
Enjoy!

As much as Tony and I both wish we had the time and money to go to a photo op like the Super Bowl, we sat instead at the local sports bar and enjoyed the game with fellow Des Moines-ians. This weekend did not pass without capturing a few good photos, however. If you have a minute, click on Gallery >> Picture Gallery >> Alexandra Cañas’ Photography >> Miscellaneous, and then go to the last page and view the last two photos, you’ll see the two from this weekend that made it to the site.
The first of the two, The Many Faces of Tony (I don’ t know if the full title is listed there) is just hilarious. Open it up to view several different stages of Tony’s goofiness. The middle one stands out as the one photo with Tony’s big, sincere smile, while the other ones get progressively goofier as you go. I had fun taking them, as well as putting them together in a single-view composition.
The second one was just something I took when Tony came home from work on Friday, took off his shoes, and sat down to relax. I had a fire going, and the gold light on the red shoes looked pretty nifty, so I got as near the shoes as I dared and snapped a few.
Football isn’t really my thing, so during the game tonight, I brainstormed a few photo-shoot ideas I might go for in the near future. I’ve gotten really comfortable with portrait photography, but would like to explore more content-based work, too. It’s my goal to send at least a few photos out to photography magazines, card/calendar companies, and contests before the year’s done, so we’ll see where this takes me!
Tony plans on posting in the near future as well, to let everyone know his scoop on his own current projects!
We’ll catch everyone later!
